It is called collateral circulation and is also called compensatory cycle. The lack of collateral circulation development indicates that these bypass developments are inadequate, or affect the circulation, which can cause various cardiovascular diseases.

Chest X-ray: It is the most valuable routine imaging method, with important hints and can reflect the coexisting lung lesions. A typical manifestation is a small vascular shadow in the affected side.
Echocardiography: It can be confirmed whether there are other congenital cardiovascular vascular malformations, and whether there is pulmonary hypertension.
Enhanced CT: enhanced direct visualization of the CT mediastinum window is absent, such as the end of the lateral artery or the proximal end of the blind end, the wall of the blood vessel is regular, the broken end is smooth, the distal end is not seen, and no continuous vascular shadow is seen.
NMR: The artery can be displayed more clearly. Great progress has also been made in the diagnosis of cardiovascular malformations, and cardiac catheterization is more non-invasive.

There are mainly coronary collateral circulation, collateral circulation of the portal vein, collateral circulation of the cerebral artery, collateral circulation of the aorta, and phase identification should be performed. If the collateral circulation is not fully developed, it will cause related diseases.
