Sideways not paying attention

Introduction

Introduction Sensory neglect, also known as hemi-inattention, can be somatosensory, visual, or auditory, in which case the patient is unable to direct the stimulus from the lesion side and is unable to respond or report. The lesions of the patient's health search neither destroy the sensory afferent pathway nor damage the primary sensory cortex or the thalamic sensory nucleus. Sensory neglect is usually expressed in the form of sensory extinction. The definition of sensory regression is given to both sides. When the same stimulation is given, the patient does not feel the stimulation on one side. However, when the left and right sides are stimulated separately, the patient can feel it.

Cause

Cause

It is a group of syndromes caused by damage to one side of the brain, which is common in the injury of the apical-occipital-temporal junction of the right brain. It is most common with cerebrovascular disease. Also seen in brain trauma and brain tumors.

Unilateral neglect is a behavioral disorder, sensory-motor aspect and cognitive aspect that involves two aspects of space utilization. In both cases, there is a tilt of attention and orientation, which generally involves different types of sensations, movements, and memory, but does not constitute a very consistent clinical manifestation. It is therefore important to use sophisticated and effective evaluation tools.

Some scholars believe that neglect can be classified as aphasia in cognitive impairment. Objectively speaking, neglect is very similar to self-contained and spatially unrecognized. Therefore, clinical diagnosis and identification are also difficult to identify points and patients with agnosia are not visual, auditory somatosensory and disturbance of consciousness. Nervous system examinations must be done carefully to rule out that some abnormalities are caused by other reasons. The patient is indistinguishable from the contralateral half of the brain and the objects in the space, and sometimes these neglected visual stimuli are treated unconsciously by the brain. A recent study by French scientists found that the unconscious treatment of visual stimuli in patients with hemianopia is not limited to low levels of visual stimuli.

Diagnosis

Differential diagnosis

Sports neglect: Motorneglect patients only use a healthy search. One hand is often the right hand to do things, and the other hand is usually the left hand. It seems to be forgotten and left idle. When walking, the healthy search of the affected arm does not swing or rarely swings the health search. Like the patient with Parkinson's disease on the side, it remains motionless for a long time when the affected arm is in a very uncomfortable position. The neglect of the lower limbs is manifested by the obstacles on the affected side when walking. When a pair of shoes are placed in front of him, he is asked to wear only one of the healthy side and ignore one of the affected side.

Vertical neglect: vertical neglect The patient is invisible to the lower half of the object in front, and the vertical direction of the wood is measured by visual, tactile, and visual-tactile bisects, compared with normal controls. The midpoint of the patient's finger was significantly shifted upwards. Bilateral occipital lobe lesions can occur in the vertical type of polymorphic neglect. It is a symptom of neglect.
