Blood in semen

Introduction

Introduction The semen with blood refers to the appearance of pink, red, brownish red or with bloodshot and blood clots. The smear under the microscope can be seen as a lot of red blood cells, which is called blood essence. It can be divided into macroscopic blood and microscopic blood. Fine, Chinese medicine called it "red turbidity".

Cause

Cause

Most are caused by seminal vesiculitis. Due to the thin wall of the seminal vesicles, once the inflammation and congestion, or the appearance of stones and other lesions, the wall of the blood vessel is prone to bleeding. The secretion of the seminal vesicle is one of the main components of semen. The seminal vesicle hemorrhage causes the secretion to stain with blood. If the semen is excreted, bloody sperm will occur. Chronic prostatitis can also cause blood sperm, the mechanism is similar to seminal vesiculitis, because prostatic fluid is another important component of semen, the gland is infiltrated by inflammation and hyperemia; frequent intercourse causes capillary rupture, accompanied by ejaculation of prostatic fluid Strong contraction and relaxation can cause blood in the prostatic fluid, and the semen is also contaminated with blood.

The normal semen is milky white, grayish white or light yellow. After the blood is fine, it is pink, brownish red or with bloodshot. Under the light microscope, it can be seen that the semen is mixed with red blood cells.

Due to the difference in bleeding site and blood volume, the appearance of blood sperm is also different: the blood from the urethral mucosa that is congested from erection is bright red, not mixed with semen, like mixed bloodshot. The blood and fines caused by various inflammations and traumas are evenly mixed, ranging from red to brown, due to changes in the color of the blood stored for a long time. Since the semen stored in the seminal vesicles can be emptied without a ejaculation, even if it is timely and adequately treated, the blood sera will not disappear until a certain period of time.

When you see bloody semen in the naked eye, or red blood cells in the semen, you can diagnose it as blood syndrome. If necessary, collect prostatic fluid and seminal vesicle fluid to identify the source of blood sperm; or for B-ultrasound examination of seminal vesicles and prostate; or for seminal vesicle angiography to observe various lesions of seminal vesicles and ejaculatory ducts.

Diagnosis

Differential diagnosis

Sperm yellowing: There are many reasons for semen yellowing, which is probably one of the symptoms of prostatitis.

Sperm quality decline: sperm quality decline means that the number of sperm, survival rate and activity capacity, density, etc. are reduced at the same volume level. When you see bloody semen in the naked eye, or red blood cells in the semen, you can diagnose it as blood syndrome. If necessary, collect prostatic fluid and seminal vesicle fluid to identify the source of blood sperm or for the semi-sperm of the seminal vesicle and prostate, or for the seminal vesicle angiography of the vas deferens to observe various lesions of the seminal vesicle and the ejaculatory duct.
