Intermittent heat

Introduction

Introduction Undulant fever The sudden rise in body temperature lasts for several hours and then rapidly drops to normal levels. The abrupt period (intermittent period) can last from one day to several days, and such a high heat period alternates with no heat. Common in malaria, acute pyelonephritis and so on. Common clinical manifestations include fever, chills, low back pain, pain in the kidney area, frequent urination, urgency, dysuria and other symptoms of bladder irritation (inflammation of the bladder).

Cause

Cause

Common in malaria, acute pyelonephritis and so on.

Malaria is caused by the female Anopheles biting the human body and introducing the parasitic malaria parasite into the human body. It is based on periodic hot and cold heat as the main feature.

Acute pyelonephritis is an acute infectious disease of the renal pelvis mucosa and renal parenchyma, mainly caused by E. coli. Common clinical manifestations include fever, chills, low back pain, pain in the kidney area, frequent urination, urgency, dysuria and other symptoms of bladder irritation (inflammation of the bladder).

When the temperature rises to a peak and lasts for several hours, it quickly drops to the normal level. The abrupt heat period (intermittent period) can last from one day to several days, and such a high heat period alternates with no heat.

According to the medical history, the patient's clinical manifestations are developed with appropriate examination plans, which are summarized and analyzed, diagnosed, and then further considered to be those physical examinations to confirm the diagnosis.

Diagnosis

Differential diagnosis

Differential diagnosis of intermittent heat:

1. Exile heat:

Mostly high fever, body temperature is often above 39 ° C, night temperature changes within 1 ° C, for several days or weeks, seen in some acute infectious diseases, such as typhoid, typhus, lobar pneumonia.

2. Relaxation heat:

Mostly high fever, body temperature varies from high to low, up to 39 °C when heating, day and night range is greater than 1 °C, sometimes body temperature can be reduced to below 38 °C, but the lowest temperature is still above normal body temperature. Common in purulent diseases, sepsis, severe tuberculosis, Kawasaki disease, advanced tumors, malignant histiocytosis and so on.

3. Irregular heat:

The range of body temperature fluctuations during fever is extremely irregular, the duration is not necessarily, and the body temperature curve is irregular. The body temperature is usually around 38 ° C or fluctuates between 37 and 40 ° C. Clinically seen in a variety of diseases, such as respiratory infections, mycoplasmal pneumonia, tuberculosis, pleurisy, infective endocarditis, rheumatic fever, leukemia, etc., can also be seen in the interference of drugs or physical cooling.

4. Wave heat:

The body temperature gradually increased, and gradually decreased to low heat or normal temperature after a few days, and gradually increased after a few days. Such repeated attacks, the body temperature curve is wavy, found in brucellosis.
