Round solid or cystic mass in the lung

Introduction

Introduction Teratoma of lung is a rare benign lung tumor that refers to the mediastinal absence of teratoma and originated in the lung. In recent years, there have been several reports in China. The intrapulmonary teratoma may be a vagus embryogenic tissue that descends along the bronchus and is a tumor formed by the lung embryo base. The intrapulmonary teratoma is located in the lung parenchyma, or in the bronchial lumen, mostly rounded or cystic masses, varying in size. The patients were more than 30 years old, and the number of males and females was similar. No hemoptysis, fatigue, weight loss, chest pain and other symptoms. I often see a doctor because of a secondary infection. There may be a clubbing. X-ray examination is mostly the surface of secondary lesions, such as lung abscess, bronchiectasis, atelectasis and so on.

Cause

It may be that the vagus embryonic tissue develops in the lungs and is mostly benign. The tumor may contain tissues from three germ layers, such as hair, muscle, cartilage and gland, epithelium, and the like.

1. History, symptoms:

The age of onset is mostly young and middle-aged, and there is no difference between men and women. Early asymptomatic, large tumor or combined infection, may have cough, sputum, difficulty breathing or even hemoptysis, can be repeated, a few have a clubbing.

2. Physical examination found:

Early asymptomatic, large tumors, pulmonary auscultation may have localized breath sounds weakened, and the lungs may have wet rales after infection.

3. Auxiliary inspection:

X-ray chest radiographs are round and elliptical in shape, with different sizes or cystic shadows. The density of the capsules is uneven, and teeth or calcifications can often be found. CT scans on the chest can more clearly show that the structure of the capsule can help confirm the diagnosis. If necessary, it can be diagnosed by chest wall lung biopsy or open chest exploration.

Diagnosis

Should be differentiated from lung cancer, other benign lung tumors.
