Cause

Causes of nasal vestibular cyst

There are several reasons for this:

1. Embryonic dysplasia The embryonic epithelial residual or vagal epithelial cells at the junction of the maxillary process, spheroid process and nasal lateral process are developed and should still belong to the embryonic fissure cyst. At present, this theory is widely recognized.

2. The secretions are formed by the obstruction of the mucous gland of the nasal mucosa and the secretion of secretions.

3. From the nasolacrimal duct, the basal wall is tough and elastic, and is composed of connective tissue. If accompanied by infection, there is inflammatory cell infiltration. The cystic endometrium has different types of epithelium, such as columnar, cubic, and squamous epithelium, and is rich in goblet cells. The contents of the capsule may be pure mucus or serum sample, amber, transparent or turbid, such as honey, mostly free of cholesterol crystals, and purulent after infection. The cyst is a single atrial, and the appearance is mostly round or oval. The cysts slowly increase, and the adjacent bones can be absorbed by pressure, and a circular shallow dish-like depression appears.

Symptom

Symptoms of nasal vestibular cyst Common symptoms Severe pain and stuffy nose

Due to the slow growth of the cyst, the initial asymptomatic, gradually felt the roots of one side of the nose bulge, nasal congestion, fullness, may have local redness and pain when combined infection, some patients may have a history of recurrence after repeated puncture.

During the examination, the roots of the nose, the bottom of the vestibule of the nose, the upper lip and the vestibule of the mouth were raised by the same round mass, which was soft and fluctuating. Puncture cysts can be extracted from transparent, translucent or honey-like liquids, mostly without cholesterol crystals.

X-ray film shows that there is a shallow and even localized shadow at the bottom of the pear-shaped hole, without bone and upper lesions. The shape, size and position of the cyst can be seen in the cystography.

Examine

Examination of nasal vestibular cyst

Laboratory inspection:

Feasible histopathological examination to determine the nature of the lesion.

Other auxiliary inspections:

Ultrasound can help diagnose, and the shape, size and position of the cyst can be seen in the cystography.

Diagnosis

Diagnosis and differentiation of nasal vestibular cyst

Should be differentiated from the ball sinus sinus, maxillary sinus cysts. Accompanying infection should be differentiated from periodontal abscess, acute maxillary sinusitis, facial cellulitis.
