Clinical significance Abnormal result 1. Height check records data measured at different age intervals and traces them on the growth curve. If the child's own curve rises parallel along one of the lines, it indicates that the growth rate is normal. If the curve flattens or falls, it indicates a problem with growth. If estimates are made by numbers, children over the age of 3 grow less than 4 cm per year and are considered to be stunted. For puberty children, comprehensive judgments such as the degree of combined development and bone age are also needed. 2. Weight check For a baby with normal birth weight, the first three months after birth, the fastest growth rate, and then gradually slow down with the increase of the age of the month. If the weight is less than 2 times the birth weight in 3 months after birth, the weight loss is 3 times of the birth weight in 1 year, the weight gain in the whole year is less than 2.0 to 2.5 kg in 1~2 years old, and the annual growth rate is 2 kg in 2~10 years old. The weight gain during adolescence is faster. The boy's annual weight gain is less than 5 kg, and the girl is less than 4 kg, which can be regarded as growth retardation. 3. The head circumference inspection head circumference grew fastest in the first year after birth. If the head circumference is greater than 34cm at birth, it is greater than 46cm at 1 year old, 2cm at the second year, and 1-2cm at the third year. When the head circumference is larger than 48cm at the age of 3, there is a possibility of brain tumors and hydrocephalus. 4. When the child is 1 year old, the chest circumference is smaller than the head circumference, which can be abnormal development of the thorax, such as chicken breast and funnel chest. 5. Intellectual behavior check The results of the intelligence test are lower than the regional average level, and there is no response or slow response to things, and there may be malnutrition and mental retardation.
