Semen consistency
Semen viscosity refers to the viscosity of the semen after liquefaction. It can be observed by the glass rod method and the semen viscosity meter method. Mucus filaments are 3-5 cm long, or 0.5 ml of semen passes a specific viscometer in less than 2 minutes (median 50s). Such as reduced viscosity, seen in congenital absence of seminal vesicles or obstruction of seminal vesicle fluid. Non-liquefied semen can inhibit sperm motility and affect fertility.
