Glucagon

Glucagon is secreted by islet α cells. It is a linear peptide containing 29 amino acids and is the main antagonist of insulin. Its main target organs are liver and kidney, which can promote liver glycogen breakdown and inhibit liver glycogen synthesis , Promote gluconeogenesis and decomposition, and can promote lipolysis. Its secretion is mainly regulated by blood glucose, secretion decreases when hyperglycemia, and increases when hypoglycemia.
