Pediatric homocystinuria
Homocystinuria is a genetic disease caused by a recessive gene located on the long arm of chromosome 21. Abnormal methionine metabolism due to enzyme deficiency, a syndrome involving the eyes, cardiovascular, bones, and nervous system. The main clinical manifestations are multiple thromboembolism, mental retardation, ectopic lens and long finger toes.
