Urinary red excretion test

The urinary phenol red excretion test (PSP) is an auxiliary test used to check whether urine is normal. Phenol red (PSP) is a harmless dye to the human body. After injection into the human body, the vast majority (94%) is actively excreted by proximal tubular epithelial cells and excreted from the urine. Therefore, phenol red is determined in the urine. Excretion (phenol red excretion rate) can be used as a rough indicator to judge the proximal tubule excretion function. Through this examination, the corresponding symptoms can be judged.
