Congenital atresia
Congenital esophageal atresia and tracheoesophageal fistula are not uncommon in the neonatal period. According to domestic statistics, the incidence rate is 1 in 2000 to 4500 neonates, which is similar to the incidence abroad (2500 to 3000 neonates 1 case in children). Occupies the third place in the development of gastrointestinal malformations, second only to anorectal deformities and congenital megacolon. The incidence is slightly higher in boys than in girls. In the past, children with this disease mostly died within a few days after birth. In recent years, due to the development of pediatric surgery, the success rate of surgical treatment has increased.
