Serum apolipoprotein E

ApolipoproteinE (apolipoproteinE, apoE) is an important component of plasma apolipoprotein. It was first discovered in normal human very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) in 1973. It consists of a single polypeptide chain of 299 amino acids. A glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 34 kD. It is of great significance for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of hypertension, myocardial infarction, cerebral infarction and senile dementia.
