Pediatric testicular torsion

Pediatric testicular torsion is due to torsion of spermatic cord, which makes the testes and epididymis develop a sudden blood flow disorder leading to infarction or necrosis, often misdiagnosed as acute orchitis and epididymitis. Unexplained testicular atrophy is also a consequence of pediatric testicular torsion. This disease is more common in young people, but in recent years, the incidence of infants, especially newborns, has increased.
