Genital herpes test
Genital herpes is caused by herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection. Herpes simplex virus is divided into two types, HSV-1 and HSV-2. HSV-1 is transmitted through close contact with the respiratory tract, skin, and mucous membranes. It mainly causes oral, pharyngeal, eye, and skin infections. A few (about 10%) can also cause genital herpes, mostly caused by oral sex.
