Myelopathy due to electric shock
Electric shock is more common. In addition to direct injury caused by local burns, visceral damage, and cardiac arrest, the nervous system can cause damage to the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves, as well as neurological dysfunction. Myelopathy caused by electric shock is more common when exposed to high voltage currents, and a few are caused by spinal cord injuries when they accidentally touch a household electrical power source.
