Hypernatremia in the elderly
Those with a serum sodium level of 145mmol / L and an increase in plasma osmotic pressure are called hypernatremia. Elderly hypernatremia is common in elderly hospitalized patients, mainly due to dehydration, and a few are caused by excessive hypertonic NaCl injection.
