Coxsackievirus B infection in newborns
Coxsackie virus B (CVB) infection mainly invades newborns with low immunity and areas with poor sanitary conditions. It is clinically characterized by inflammation of the myocardium and brain. The severe outbreak of this disease has a fatality rate of 26% to 69.4%, which is more harmful to newborns and has attracted the attention of neonatal scholars worldwide. Since it was reported in Cossack, New York, USA in 1954, in addition to causing neonatal sporadic infections, there have been many epidemics in some parts of the world.
