Pediatric germ cell tumor
The histological characteristics of suprasellar germinoma are basically the same as those of germ cell tumors in the pineal gland, but the clinical characteristics are unique. Germ cell tumors include germinoma, embryonic cancer, yolk sac tumor (endodermal sinus tumor), chorionic carcinoma, and teratoma. Germ cell tumors have the highest incidence, followed by teratomas. Germ cell tumors on the saddle are more common in children. The clinical manifestations depend on the location of the tumor. Common pineal region symptoms, increased intracranial pressure, local symptoms and sexual development abnormalities, such as diabetes insufficiency in the saddle area.
