Stress and Adaptation Disorders
Stress reactions and adaptation disorders are a group of mental illnesses caused by severe stressful life events or persistent unpleasant environments. Its clinical symptoms and course are closely related to traumatic experience. The relevant factors that affect the clinical manifestations and course of the disease are: life events and situations; thoughts, concepts and social and cultural background; personality characteristics, education level and life beliefs. The prognosis is generally good. The prevalence is not consistent across countries because of different concepts and diagnostic criteria for the disease.
