Acute infections in elderly cancer patients
Cellular and humoral immunity of cancer patients have obvious defects. After chemotherapy and radiotherapy, organ damage, reduction of granulocytes, and damage to skin and mucosa undoubtedly increase the chance of infection and increase the risk. Infection is the main cause of complications or death in cancer patients, especially advanced tumors with concurrent infections are the most common phenomenon.
