Alveolar Hypoventilation Syndrome
Alveolar hypoventilation syndrome (alveolar hypoventilation syndrome) means that the ventilation volume of the alveoli cannot meet the needs of tissue metabolism. As a result, the partial pressure of oxygen in the alveoli and the partial pressure of oxygen in the arteries are reduced, and the partial pressure of carbon dioxide in the arteries is increased. But clinically significant hypoventilation syndrome, its PaCO2 is generally higher than 6.67kPa (50mmHg).
