Pediatric lupus nephritis

Pediatric lupus nephritis, also known as systemic lupus erythenlatosus nephritis (SLEN), refers to patients with systemic lupus erythematosus with clinical manifestations of renal disease and abnormal renal function, or glomerulonephritis found only during renal biopsy . Systemic lupus erythematosus is a recognized autoimmune disease, and most of its lesions involve several systems or organs. In some patients with SLE, extrarenal symptoms are predominant and renal damage is mild; in other patients, renal damage is the main manifestation. Extrarenal symptoms are not obvious, and the latter is easily misdiagnosed as primary glomerular disease.
