Geomycosis

Geotrichosis is an occasional disease caused by the conditional pathogen Candida. This fungus is a yeast-like fungus that is widely distributed and can be parasitic on soil, vegetables, and fruits. It most commonly affects the lungs and intestines. The disease was first reported by Beneff in 1842 as a tuberculous patient with geomycosis. Because the disease is a conditionally pathogenic infection, the disease is often accompanied or secondary to wasting diseases such as tuberculosis, diabetes, and leukemia or to patients with long-term hormone and AIDS. Often manifested as bronchial and pulmonary infections, intestinal infections, etc., more common in patients with severe immunodeficiency.
