Acute suppurative palatine tonsillitis
Acute suppurative palatine tonsillitis is an acute nonspecific inflammation of the palatine tonsils, often accompanied by pharyngitis, and is more common in adolescents under 20 years of age. The main pathogenic bacteria are type B hemolytic streptococcus and pneumococcus. Influenza bacilli can also cause the disease.
