Pediatric progressive ossifying myositis
Ossogenic myositis (myositis ossificans) can be divided into three categories, namely traumatic, limited and progressive three. Traumatic ossifying myositis refers to ossification caused by repeated muscle damage to a certain part of the muscle. Localized individuals usually form bone in the scars of the muscles. Only myositis ossificans progressiva is described here. This disease is characterized by intramuscular ectopic calcification and ossification; clinical features refer to the (toe) small deformity and the progressive ossification of connective tissue in the fascia, tendon, ligament, myometrium and skeletal muscle space . Since the skeletal muscle itself is basically normal, it seems more accurate to use the term fibrodysplasia ossificans progressive to describe this lesion.
