Spinal cord compression in the elderly
Spinal cord compression refers to compression of the spinal cord or horsetail, which is a common tumor complication. In 1959 Barronw reported that the autopsy rate was about 5%. According to the literature, lung cancer accounts for 16% to 33% of spinal cord compression, which is the most common type of malignant tumors. Followed by breast cancer, accounting for 12% to 28%. The treatment of spinal cord compression is better before irreversible paralysis or urinary incontinence, so it should be considered an emergency.
