Pediatric Flexible Xanthomas

Elastic pseudoxanthomas, or pseudoelastic xanthomas, is a rare systemic connective tissue disease with extensive elastic tissue degeneration. Clinically, it is characterized by skin damage, visceral hemorrhage, premature calcification, occlusive vascular disease and complications such as angina pectoris, claudication, changes in hypertension, and changes in fundus vascular stripes. This disease is also known as pseudoxanthoma elasticum, elastosis dystrophica, systemic elastic disease, generalized elastorrhexis, and hereditary elasticity. Fibrous dystrophy (hereditary elastodystrophy), Grouml; nblad-Strandberg syndrome (Grouml; nblad-Strandberg syndrome), Grouml; nblad-Strandberg-Touraine syndrome, Touraine syndrome, Darier-Grouml; nblad-Strandberg syndrome, etc.
