Ovarian endometrioid tumor

The tissue structure of ovarian endometrioid tumors has similar characteristics to endometrial epithelium and / or mesenchyme, and can come from ectopic endometrium and ovarian surface epithelium. In the past, such tumors were poorly understood and diagnosed less frequently. It was officially named in 1964 by the International Obstetrics and Gynecology Society. In 1973, it was formally classified as benign, borderline and malignant in the international ovarian tumor histology classification. In addition to endometrioid carcinoma, the latter also include adenosarcoma, mixed mesothelioma or mixed Miller tumor, and endometrial stromal sarcoma.
