Hepatic encephalopathy in the elderly
Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) is a syndrome of central nervous system dysfunction based on metabolic disorders caused by severe liver disease or extensive portal-body vein shunt. Its main clinical manifestations are disturbance of consciousness, behavioral disorders and coma.
