Acute glomerulonephritis in children
Acute glomerulonephritis (acute glomerulonephritis), also known as acute nephritis, usually refers to acute nephritis generally seen in children over 3 years of age, mostly caused by type B hemolytic streptococcal infection, or related to other bacterial and viral infections. The antigen-antibody complex is deposited on the glomerular basement membrane, which damages the basement membrane and causes disease. Congestive heart failure or hypertensive encephalopathy can be associated with the course of the disease. The prognosis is generally good, and very few can turn into chronic nephritis.
