Mastocytosis

Mast cell hyperplasia (mastocytosis) is also known as pigmented urticaria. Cloning studies and mutation analysis indicate that at least some cases of adult mast cells are due to mast cell tumorous proliferation, while childhood mast cell disease is cytokine-induced proliferation.
