Iliac aneurysm

Popliteal aneurysm (popliteal aneurysm) is one of the more common aneurysms in peripheral vascular aneurysms, mostly atherosclerotic aneurysms, followed by damaging aneurysms. The management of iliac aneurysms has a special place in the history of vascular surgery. As early as the 4th century, Antyllus had the first iliac aneurysm operation. For several years thereafter, the operation was limited to arterial ligation. With the advancement of vascular surgery technology, equipment and materials, the treatment of this disease has gradually transitioned to reconstruction surgery. In 1916, Berheim reported the use of a saphenous vein graft to reconstruct the sacroiliac aneurysm. In 1958, Crawford published the results of a surgical operation on a iliac aneurysm with a vascular graft. Surgical methods are becoming more reasonable and effective.
