Colon twist
Colonic torsion refers to closed colonic obstruction caused by abnormal development of the colon, such as moving the colon, excessively long transverse colons, and sigmoid colon lengthening along the long axis of the mesentery. Colonic torsion is more common in sigmoid torsion, and it is more common in older men. Caecal torsion is rare and can occur at any age, with a higher incidence at 20 to 40 years of age. It is rare that the transverse colon is twisted if it is not caused by adhesions. The incidence of this disease is different in different regions, there are more in Shandong and Hebei in China.
