Relative erythrocytosis

Relative erythrocytosis is due to a decrease in plasma volume and a relative increase in red blood cells. It is mainly seen in transient erythrocytosis. Polycythemia can be divided into two major categories: primary and secondary. Primary is erythrocytosis; secondary is mainly caused by tissue hypoxia.
