Parkinson's disease in the elderly
Parkinson's disease (PD), also known as Paralysis agitans (Shaking palsy), was first described by the British scholar James Parkinson (1817), and is a common neurological degeneration disease in the elderly. The main lesions are in the substantia nigra and striatum. Tremor, muscle rigidity, and reduced motion are the main clinical features of the disease.
