Median nerve injury
The median nerve is superficial on the wrist and is easily injured by sharps. The humeral supracondylar fracture and dislocation of the lunate bone are often associated with median nerve injury, mostly contusion or crush injury. A secondary injury to the dislocation of the shoulder joint is a stretch injury. In addition, the median nerve can cause chronic nerve compression symptoms due to wrist bone hyperplasia, hypertrophy of the transverse carpal ligament, or hypertrophy of the pronalis round muscle.
