Primary spinal tumor
Spinal canal tumor refers to the collective term for primary tumors and metastatic tumors that grow in the spinal cord itself and tissue structures adjacent to the spinal cord (such as nerve roots, dura mater, adipose tissue in the spinal canal, blood vessels, etc.) . Clinically, tumors in spinal canal are classified into intramedullary, extramedullary epidural and epidural according to the positional relationship between tumors and spinal cord and dura mater. Extramedullary intradural tumors are the most common, followed by epidural tumors, and the least common are intraspinal tumors. Intramedullary tumors account for 9% to 18%, extramedullary intradural tumors account for about 55%, epidural tumors account for about 25%, and dumbbell-shaped spinal tumors account for about 8.5%.
