Preatrial contraction
Atrial premature contraction is atrial premature beats (APB), also known as atrial premature beats, premature atrial contractions, atrial premature contractions, originating in any part of the atrium other than the sinoatrial node. A 24-hour ECG test was performed on normal adults, and approximately 60% had pre-atrial contractions. Pre-atrial contractions can occur in patients with various types of organic heart disease and are often a precursor to the appearance of tachyatrial arrhythmias.
