Secretory otitis media

Secretory otitis media is a non-purulent inflammatory disease of the middle ear which is mainly characterized by tympanic fluid and hearing loss. Middle ear effusion can be serous leakage or exudate, or it can be mucus. The name of this disease is not uniform, there are known as exudative otitis media, cataract otitis media, serous otitis media, serous-mucus otitis media, non-purulent otitis media. The middle ear is thick and gelatinous, which is called glue ear.
