Ventricular flutter usually lasts for a short period of time, and soon becomes ventricular fibrillation. Therefore, ventricular flutter is a precursor of ventricular fibrillation. Ventricular flutter is a transitional type between ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation. It can also occur with or in combination with ventricular fibrillation.
