Vestibular neuritis
In 1909, Ruttin first proposed the term vestibular neuritis, also known as epidemic vertigo, neurological labyrinthitis, acute labyrinthitis, or vestibular paralysis. The inflammation is confined to the vestibular system. The cochlea and central system are normal. Most of the inflammation occurs in adults 20 to 60 years old. There is often a history of upper respiratory infections before the illness. The disease can be divided into acute and chronic.
