Barrett's esophagus
The lower end of the esophagus is covered by abnormal columnar epithelium, which is called Barrett's esophagus. It is generally considered to be acquired and closely related to reflux esophagitis, and there is a possibility of adenocarcinoma. Ectopic columnar epithelial residues in the esophagus can occur anywhere in the esophagus.
