Hypertonic nonketotic hyperglycemia coma
Hypertonic nonketotic hyperglycemic coma is a rare and serious complication of acute diabetes. Its main clinical features are severe hyperglycemia, dehydration, and elevated plasma osmotic pressure without significant ketogenic acidosis. Patients often have a disturbance of consciousness or coma. The disease has a high fatality rate and should be given adequate vigilance, timely diagnosis and effective treatment.
