Harlequin fetus is also called ichthrosis fetalis. Rare, autosomal recessive. The pathogenesis is uncertain. At birth, the children were covered with keratinous armor-like plaques and their faces looked like harlequins. Most of them were stillbirths or died of breastfeeding and restricted breathing for several days or weeks after birth.
