Extraocular metastasis
Extraocular metastasis is due to tumor growth that can erode the weak parts of the sclera. For example, metastasis to blood vessels and nerve ducts along the sclera to the outside of the globe into the orbit causes the eyeballs to protrude and invade adjacent tissues.
