Pharyngeal reflex disappears

Pharyngeal reflex: Touch the posterior wall of the pharynx with a tongue depressor and cause nausea reflex (pharyngeal muscle contraction) in normal. The reflex center lies in the medulla oblongata. Those with nerve damage are slow or disappear.
