Androgen dependence

Androgen dependence is more common in androgen-dependent prostate cancer. Androgens are produced by the testes. In addition, the adrenal cortex and ovaries can also secrete a small amount of androgens. After male children enter puberty, the testes begin to secrete androgens to promote the development of reproductive organs, develop secondary sexual characteristics, and produce sexual home and libido. Androgens can also stimulate appetite, promote protein synthesis, and reduce urinary nitrogen excretion.
