Carotid stenosis

Carotid artery stenosis is a symptom of the carotid artery that is the main blood vessel that leads from the heart to the brain and other parts of the head. Carotid stenosis is mostly due to carotid atherosclerotic plaque stenosis, which has a high incidence. About 9% of people over the age of 60 suffer from carotid stenosis, which mostly occurs in the common carotid Bifurcation and start of internal carotid artery. Some stenotic lesions may even progress to complete occlusive lesions. Carotid stenosis can be treated with drug control or surgery.
