Polyp
Polyp (polyp) refers to excess mass that grows on the surface of human tissues. In modern medicine, the neoplasms growing on the surface of the human mucosa are collectively called polyps. Breath is the meaning of excess and surplus. "Shuowen Jiezi" records "breath, but also sends meat." "Huang Di Nei Jing. Yu Pian" says "tumor, polyp also." Polyps are a type of benign tumor. However, cysts growing under the skin, lipomas in fat, and fibroids in muscles can also cause body surface bulges, but they are not in the category of polyps. Medically, it is named after the place where it appears. For example, the vocal cords are called "vocal cord polyps," and they appear on the stomach wall as "gastric polyps," and so on. If there are more than two polyps in a certain part, it is also called "multiple polyps".
